Business for a Fair Minimum Wage
Business for a Fair Minimum Wage is a national network of business owners, executives and business organizations that believe a fair minimum wage makes good business sense. From small local businesses to iconic regional and national brands, our members across the country make clear that raising the minimum wage is good for business, customers and our economy.
Since our founding in 2006, Business for a Fair Minimum Wage has educated, organized and publicized business support for raising the minimum wage at federal, state and local levels. We organized unprecedented business support to win the last federal minimum wage increase and, more recently, passing the $15 by 2025 Raise the Wage Act in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2019. Business for a Fair Minimum Wage built a strong statewide coalition of businesses to support the 2020 Florida $15 ballot measure and has played a leading role in winning minimum wage raises in many other states such as Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York and Virginia as well as Washington DC. We know we can’t build a thriving, sustainable economy on an inadequate wage floor. Business for a Fair Minimum Wage work continues to assure a minimum wage that people can live on that boosts businesses, communities and the economy.
