ASBN Team Profile: Shanti Holloway
Shanti Holloway was recently promoted to Senior Manager of Web and Digital Content at the American Sustainable Business Network, furthering a remarkable professional career, which is among the most varied of anyone at the organization. Shanti has an extremely broad range of experience and describes herself as a techie, process manager, realtor, entrepreneur, and now add to that manager of ASBN’s Diversity & Equity Working Group. By the way, she’s also a devoted mom and in what little spare time she has is a mentor to young girls in a group she founded called The Butterfly Effect of NC. All of these skills and attributes are proving to be extremely valuable in her new role.
When asked what about doing lots of different things that she enjoys, Shanti said, “I enjoy doing lots of different things because you never know what the day will bring. I love the variety and change of my day to day.”
After graduating with honors from North Carolina Central University, where she received an MBA and a Master of Information Sciences, Shanti received her BS in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. She then went on to hold positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Marketing Support Consultant; an Investor Services Manager at Piedmont Investment Advisors; Edward Jones as a Branch Office Administrator; Square 1 Bank, as a portfolio analyst; Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor and various administrative roles at First Citizens Bank and SunTrust Bank in the commercial banking department.
Shanti began her career in the nonprofit space as the assistant to the executive director of Investors Circle in 2017. Since then, she has rotated to numerous roles throughout the organization, which is now part of ASBN. In her former role as the Manager of Operations she assisted with back-office management, analyzing and improving organizational processes, and working to improve the overall member experience. And in her new role Shanti continues to manage ASBN’s operations while adding all of ASBN’s digital management as well.
And yes, she is also still a residential and commercial real estate agent in the Triangle area of her home state of North Carolina, fulfilling her commitment to being an entrepreneur. In closing Shanti wants her colleagues to know that, “My mission is to always be of service to those who I can help in every capacity that I serve.”
