ASBN Comments on Historic Supreme Court Justice Nomination

Washington, DC – The American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN) today issued the following statement regarding the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as the next Justice on the Supreme Court.  

As noted last week by the White House in announcing its nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as the next Supreme Court Judge of the U.S., “Judge Jackson is one of our nation’s brightest legal minds and has an unusual breadth of experience in our legal system, giving her the perspective to be an exceptional Justice.” In addition to her outstanding judicial experience, the nomination of Judge Jackson brings greater diversity to the Court, which is wholly endorsed by ASBN.  

Diversity of perspective is the lifeline of improved understanding and problem solving across society, including in business. Judge Jackson’s diverse professional experiences and as a Black woman in the U.S. are of immeasurable value to a Court that has historically not reflected the diversity of the population it serves. With Judge Jackson’s nomination, that stands to improve It has long been ASBN’s position that a fully participatory and representative democracy is the backbone of a vibrant and strong economy.
