ASBN will be joined by Aleta Edwards as Senior Manager, Communications and Storytelling
ASBN is excited to announce the organization will welcome Aleta Edwards onto the team as the Sr. Manager, Communications and Storytelling.
Edwards has more than ten years experience managing public relations assets for higher education, government, nonprofit and broadcast organizations. During this time, she leveraged meaningful storytelling to communicate organizational goals, developed branded content for various channels, led crisis communications efforts, and produced speeches and talking points for executive leadership.
Edwards is passionate about working in overlooked and underserved communities to share their stories, highlight their challenges, celebrate their wins, and discuss opportunities for advancement. Most recently, she served as the Communications Manager at Black News Channel where she managed the network’s public and media relations activity.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Aleta Edwards to the ASBN team,” said Jeffrey Hollender, chief executive officer and co-founder of ASBN. “She brings with her a breadth of knowledge in public relations and digital communications. Her experience and passion for changing the world will be key as we advance our mission to transform the public and private sectors toward a more just and sustainable economy.”
In her new role, Edwards will work cross-functionally serving internal and external stakeholders to promote the awareness of the ASBN brand and its strategic priorities.
‘It’s an honor to join ASBN and build on its strong foundation of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion,” said Edwards. “I look forward to working with ASBN and its members to address the inefficiencies in our economy and work toward equitable policy solutions that benefit us all.”
Edwards holds master’s in Global Strategic Communication from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s in Mass Communications from the University of West Georgia.
