EERE framework on Circularity for Secure and Sustainable Products and Materials RFI
On October 9, the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office (AMMTO) issued a Request for Information (RFI) on behalf of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) to solicit public comments on the draft strategic framework on Circularity for Secure and Sustainable Products and Materials.
The purpose of this RFI is to solicit feedback from stakeholders, including our community of business leaders, on issues related to EERE’s strategic framework to increase product and material circularity. Specifically, it is seeking feedback on addressing and overcoming the unique challenges related to recirculation of products and materials at the end-of-use (EOU) or end-of-life (EOL) back into the economy. This feedback will help to ensure EERE’s investments in this space are optimally positioned to address opportunities and challenges related to increasing circularity.
Specifically, EERE is seeking input on:
- A framework for prioritization of R&D
- Significant opportunities, challenges, and enablers to increase product and material circularity
- Technology advancement needed to achieve EERE objectives
- Prioritization of future EERE investments, including data that supports this prioritization
- How to maximize impact
ASBN will be submitting comments by the deadline of December 16th, 2024, and invite you to contribute your thoughts below to be included in this collective comment. Please reach out to Abby Maxwell and David Levine with questions. We are accepting feedback using this form until December 2nd, 2024.
