What We Advanced in June
Community Wealth Research – Presenting ASBN’s Kauffman Foundation-funded Community Wealth and Well-being study using participatory action research across six sites, focusing on asset-based approaches to ownership models, worker cooperatives, and employee ownership with emphasis on BIPOC and women beneficiaries.
Main Street Economic Policy – Developing comprehensive statement for Main Street call for responsible economic policy to catalyze small businesses nationwide into unified action force for systemic change.
Predatory Lending Defense – Advancing Small Business Borrowers Bill of Rights through Responsible Business Lending Coalition, with standards endorsed by 100+ organizations and incorporated into Treasury regulations, leading to eight laws helping millions of business owners save billions annually.
Secure Growth Initiative – Mobilizing small business response to mass deportation impacts through story collection and media engagement, highlighting economic consequences for local communities.
July 23rd Focus: Finalizing Main Street economic policy statement, building outreach strategies, and expanding coalition participation across lending reform and immigration policy initiatives.
