Equity Pricing

ASBC’s Equity Pricing initiative acknowledges the persistent challenges that historically marginalized communities encounter when launching and expanding their businesses. To foster greater equity and accessibility within ASBN, this program offers adjusted annual membership fees for businesses and organizations that are BIPOC-owned, women-owned, or employee-owned. The goal is to create a more inclusive business community by reducing financial barriers to participation.

“Updated my membership! I appreciate the good work of ASBN to harness the power of good business to shift policy in a positive direction. Monitoring legislation is not what I do during the day; I am very glad that there is ASBN to do that on our behalf while marshalling the power of a network of sustainable businesses to effect legislative outcomes that protect people and the planet.”

ASBN, ASBC, and ASBI: A Unified Approach

The American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN) serves as an umbrella organization encompassing two affiliate entities: the 501(c)(4) American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) and the 501(c)(3) American Sustainable Business Institute (ASBI).

While these entities work in close harmony to advance ASBN’s mission, their focus areas and functions are distinct yet complementary:

  • ASBC (501(c)(4)) emphasizes network development, engaging businesses through coalition-building and membership while leveraging its capability to lobby and advocate for policy changes at the state and federal levels.
  • ASBI (501(c)(3)) focuses on education and shifting narratives, fostering a deeper understanding of sustainable business practices through research, thought leadership, and educational initiatives.

Together, these organizations form a powerful platform to drive systemic change by aligning advocacy with education and collaboration. Membership is held by ASBC, but comes with the power, influence and change-making that is possible through ASBN.

Maximizing the Impact of Collective Action

ASBN members can join one or more of our issue and impact-specific policy briefs, steering committees or amplifier opportunities. Work with other businesses and associations to activate change and amplify our collective voice and power in policy, advocacy to make an impact.

Policy Briefs

Members are kept informed with policy updates, expert insights, and engagement opportunities through issue-specific discussions. These meetings provide deeper analysis, helping you stay involved in key policy conversations without requiring extensive policy knowledge.

Steering Committees

By serving on the Steering Committee, members and partners play a pivotal role in shaping ASBN’s advocacy efforts, amplifying business voices in policy discussions, and fostering a coordinated, action-driven coalition for sustainable business practices.

Amplifiers

Amplifier quarterly calls are geared towards members who support ASBN’s mission but may lack the capacity for frequent meetings. They stay engaged through quarterly meetings, amplifying advocacy efforts, spreading awareness, and taking action when possible.
