Partner Event Time to Vote: Driving Employee Civic Engagement in 2022

No employee should have to choose between voting and earning a paycheck. The Time to Vote project continues to mobilize businesses to help more Americans to vote in 2022, while also contributing to the national culture shift needed to increase voter participation. Launched in 2018, Time to Vote (TTV) is a national, nonpartisan initiative for companies who want to ensure their employees have the time they need to vote. Today, nearly two thousand companies have joined the effort and we want to keep up the momentum to ensure the highest turnout in midterms election history.

On April 28th, hear fromPepsiCo,Hims & Hers,Legacy Vacation Resorts,PayPal, andPatagoniaabout why the business community cares about voter participation, how Time to Vote works, what different companies did in 2020, and how your company can join. You will learn how your company’s participation will boost employee and community relations, generate earned media, enhance your reputation as a civic leader, and support our representative democracy.

Social Economy Business Solutions in Response to War & the Refugee Crisis in Ukraine

ASBN is proud partners with Social Economy Europe, the voice of 2.8 million social economy enterprises and organizations in Europe. Through this partnership, ASBN has an opportunity to virtually present at a seminal event, “The Social Economy: the Future of Europe,” to be held in Strasbourg, France, (home of the European Parliament) and sponsored by its Mayor, on May 5th & 6th, focused on answering the collaboration call to rebuild Ukraine with sustaining social economy solutions addressing epic deprivations caused by war, the external refugee crisis and Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs). Our panel takes place on the 5th of May at 15:00 local time (09:00 EST). 120 EU Social Economy organizations will be present and united in the goal of uplifting Social Economy Ukraine. Attendees at this event, in addition to the Deputy Mayor of Strasbourg, will also be members of the European Commission and Parliament (in session). A formal event agenda should be ready early next week.

The focus of the targeted ASBN presentation is to make recommendations from business perspectives on how enterprises can respond to the Ukraine crisis, implement strategies to boost social economy entrepreneurship, and scale up sustaining social economy solutions as part of those efforts. We are most interested in your participation and ideas.

You are invited to join us Friday, April 22nd at 12pm ET to hear from Ibon Zugasti (International Director for LKS, MONDRAGON Corporation’s management consultancy cooperative), Víctor Meseguer (Director of Social Economy Europe), and Michael Peck (1worker1vote executive director & co-founder; Board, ASBN) and then participate in a members-only discussion to help refine our recommendations ahead of this special presentation.

Member Event ASBN Masterclass: The Value of Values: Building Resilient Culture Rooted by Values

Join us for an interactive masterclass withMartha WilliamsandJohn Scilipote, Senior Consultants and founders atCulture Shift Agency&BreakBread Worldfor a conversation on the importance values play in building culture and creating community.

What if you showed up for a Zoom meeting and the check-in was “Please put your name, where you’re calling in from, your company name, and your company values in the chat”? What would you type in the chat? More importantly, what would your employees or coworkers type? Your organization’s culture is the collective result of how employees think, behave, and relate while working. Your organization’s values form the bedrock of your culture – how decisions are made, goals are achieved, and missions fulfilled – and when confronted with challenges, how we respond (or react).

If you haven’t clearly set out a specific set of values, don’t let yourself be fooled – they are there, and operating in the dark. And for those of you who have, are you walking the walk? And are you helping your coworkers do the same?

Join us for an informative and participatory hour of conversation on values and their role in your organization.
