The Ampersand Group unites the American Sustainable Business Network with the National Supplier Diversity Institute to Advance Local Diverse Business Initiatives and Collaborative Multi-Stakeholder Engagement in Clean Energy Industry

New York – The Ampersand Group, a facilitator of multi-stakeholder economic ecosystems, has partnered with the American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN) and the National Supplier Diversity Institute (NSDI) to support small and diverse businesses in industries such as offshore wind, maritime, transportation, and construction. This collaboration leverages partnerships, resources, and networks to expand economic opportunities and advance equity in the clean energy industry.

ASBN’s national affiliate and member network prioritizes justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion across its organizational, business, programmatic, and investment activities. The Ampersand Group’s partnership with NSDI’s Diverse Business Development State Activation Days and Networking Events, in conjunction with urban planning firm Karp Strategies, will help expand aligned resources and outreach to BIPOC businesses and diverse communities within ASBN’s member base.

“Through strategic partnerships and collaborative economic development strategies, we are co-building inclusive, multi-stakeholder, regenerative economies driven by the renewable energy industry,” said Angele’ of the Ampersand Group. “Uniting ASBN’s sustainable business initiatives with NSDI’s efforts to expand local opportunities for diverse businesses in clean energy will transform the landscape, providing access and opportunity for traditionally underserved communities.”

“We are building a movement of business organizations and investors to create a more just and sustainable economy and society,” said David Levine, ASBN Co-Founder and President. “Our work, though broad and diverse, is driven by our 30+ state affiliates, more than 12 working groups, and a broad community making an impact. Engaging BIPOC business owners and community stakeholders builds the case for a more sustainable economy.”

This partnership aims to advance a comprehensive plan for multi-stakeholder engagement and diverse business inclusion in the clean energy sector. The collaboration will support diversity, equity, and inclusion by working with BIPOC-owned businesses, providing educational opportunities, and offering resources to support diverse-owned businesses.

ASBN and NSDI’s joint programming will encourage industry leaders to leverage partnerships and resources to promote sustainable, equitable growth. NSDI’s supplier diversity training network also advances opportunities and capacity-building for small and diverse sellers working with public and private buyers.
