As we learn more about the threats and challenges of the climate crisis, our society is forced to evolve and change to become ever more resilient. Black, brown and Indigenous people of color and low income communities, in particular, face the consequences of humankinds exploitation of resources. Hear how our panel is tackling climate justice through energy access, community organizing and design. Seungah Jeong is dedicated to providing clean energy to people around the world who need it most. Stateside, Chéri Smiths Indigenous Energy Initiative helps tribes design strategic plans and interventions to grow their economies with clean energy and restore sovereignty. José T. Bravos Just Transition Alliance serves people of color, Indigenous Peoples and low-income communities living under the threat of polluting industries; and workers, in the service, energy, farmworker, and chemical sectors. Meanwhile, April De Simones work investigates spatial infractions of democracy within the built environment, exploring the implicit relationship between architecture and societys most pressing challenges.
